1988 CR250 Restore

This is my 1964 Honda 300 Dream.  This bike is a restoration project I did in m own garage back in 1991.  The bike was completely disassembled.  Every piece was either refinished, rechromed or polished.  The engine was completely disassembled and each part was either painted or polished.  I installed new pistons and rings on a first over bore and all new gaskets and oil seals.  The top end was disassembled and blasted in a glass media cabinet then lightly dusted with a high temp aluminum paint.  I was fortunate that 90% of the parts that needed replacement were still available from American Honda.

This is my 87' CR250.  I purchased this bike basket case and spent about one year searching for parts to make the bike complete again.  Frame was sandblasted and refinished in a modern silver color.  I really did not like the red frame and I was not looking to restore to original.  The engine was media blasted and refinished in a high temp clear.  Engine has a fresh bore and all new seals and gaskets.  The plastics are original.  I rubbed them out with rubbing compound.  It requires a lot of elbow grease, but the outcome is worth the effort.
